Permanent District Substitute

Provide continuation of instruction and management of students in absence of the regular teacher across a variety of content areas and grade levels. Responsibilities include conveying assignments and instructions to students, taking attendance, supervising students with proper classroom management, providing detailed notes and feedback to the regular teacher, grading when appropriate, maintaining classroom cleanliness, protecting confidential information, and ensuring compliance with federal, state and district policies. Must follow safety and emergency procedures, communicate effectively in writing and orally, and use computer skills (including Google Suite) to navigate email and websites. Position is district-wide, contracted for 177 days per year, 7 hours per day, with duties adaptable to location and district needs. Successful pre-employment screenings are required; contracts are with the district (Daviess County Public Schools).
