Job Summary
Deliver instruction and maintain classroom routines in accordance with teacher-provided lesson plans; manage classroom behavior and create a respectful, safe learning environment; supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during school events; follow all school and district policies including safety and emergency procedures; collaborate with staff to support student learning and building-wide initiatives; fill in for various grade levels and content areas with minimal advance notice; requires approved substitute teaching authorization or Iowa teaching license; full-time schedule Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week; 170-day calendar; compensation $25 per hour; benefits include district health insurance; Cedar Rapids Community School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Must be an approved substitute teacher registered through SubCentral assignment system at subcentral.gwaea.org
- Must hold a valid substitute authorization or teaching license through the State of Iowa to register with SubCentral
