Permanent Allied-Respiratory Therapist, ICU

Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions in the ICU, initiating and managing mechanical ventilation and life-support systems. Administer aerosol medications, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed respiratory treatments while performing diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans and respond to emergency situations including rapid response or code blue events for airway management. Maintain accurate patient records and document all treatments in compliance with hospital policies. Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment use during transitions. Rotate shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required in this fast-paced critical care setting.
