Job Summary
Perishable Manager in a retail grocery setting leads the frozen and dairy departments, overseeing department sales/profits, inventory control, and adherence to food safety standards. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing partners; planning and directing work; scheduling; reviewing historical data to forecast sales; maintaining product levels and quality; ensuring proper display and rotation of products; promoting customer service and sales through suggestive selling and merchandising; managing safety and cleanliness; and communicating with upper management on performance and issues. Requires leadership abilities, strong communication, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Education/certifications include a high school diploma or GED and multiple certifications (Food Handler, Manager Food Safety, AML, HIPAA, and relevant TABC/LACT/AATC where applicable). Minimum age requirements are 18 for employment and 21 to drive for company business. Prior experience in perishable operations and inventory systems is expected.
