Job Summary
Lead residential care management across Scotland, developing senior practitioners, overseeing operations and health safety policies, and managing home budgets. Monitor young people's progress, ensure child protection compliance, and analyze data to drive continuous improvement. Build relationships with statutory bodies and the local community while supporting staff in achieving performance targets. Provide on-call support Monday through Thursday and rotate weekend coverage with senior staff. Maintain accurate records, manage training compliance, and adapt to unpredictable service demands.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience of working in a residential children's home
- Experience in supervising or managing a team
- SVQ 4 & HNC in Social Care or equivalent
- NVQ level 4 DipSW, CQSW, CSS, Management qualification or willing to work towards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Full UK manual driving licence and being a confident driver
- Working knowledge of legislation in relation to childcare including Health & Social Care Standards 2018, Children (Scotland) Act 1995, GIRFEC
- Understanding of the process of child development
- Experience of working in a residential children's home in a management or supervisory capacity
- Eligibility for SSSC registration and PVG membership for work with children and adults
- Eligibility for car insurance for company cars
- Relevant qualifications in social care or other relevant subject
- Excellent communication, IT, and teamwork skills
- Possessing a full manual UK driving licence and being eligible for car insurance for company cars
