Perioperative Tech

Assist the surgical care team in patient care, environment management, and transportation of patients, supplies, and specimens within and outside the Surgical Services Unit. Perform endoscopy technician duties, including setting up and preparing YAG Laser machines for eye procedures, assisting with endoscopy and peripheral iridotomy cases, and managing operating room set-up and turn-over. Disinfect machinery, carts, and surfaces consistently while following infection control guidelines and universal precautions. Transport patients and specimens, answer calls, and communicate with charge RNs regarding assigned tasks. Work 80% of staff meetings and maintain current competency in unit-based programs.
