Job Summary
Perioperative RN provides professional nursing care in the operating room setting under the Yale New Haven Health System, adhering to ANA Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice and the YNHHS Professional Practice Model. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team, effective communication, and evidence-based practice to achieve quality outcomes. The RN must be licensed in Connecticut, have or obtain current BCLS certification within one month of hire, and BSN is preferred. Additional emphasis on patient-centered care, cultural congruence, health teaching, and coordination of care in the perioperative environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current Connecticut RN licensure
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification either existing or to be obtained within one month of hire
- Knowledge of ANA Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice
- Familiarity with YNHHS Professional Practice Model
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
