Job Summary
The Perioperative Registered Nurse at Central Maine Healthcare is responsible for managing patient care during all surgery phases, ensuring safety, assessing and diagnosing patients, implementing treatments, and maintaining patient documentation. Candidates must possess a Registered Nurse degree, an active Maine nursing license, and relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS). Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. The position requires knowledge of surgical patient care and adherence to ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Active State of Maine Nursing license or eligible for licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Skill in time management and prioritizing tasks
- Ability to organize and accomplish tasks flexibly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to project and maintain a professional image
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of nursing in an ambulatory surgery center setting with emphasis on surgical risk factors
