Job Summary
Perioperative Nurse (N2) in the OR Child Health unit at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg. Responsible for promoting perioperative nursing practice, ensuring continuity of care throughout the perioperative period, participating in ongoing education and quality assurance activities, and supporting evidence-based nursing interventions under the OR Manager. Requires RN education, CRNM registration, and CPR; CNA perioperative certification preferred. Work arrangement is in-person with a 0.70 FTE schedule, and shifts include days, evenings, weekends, with standby coverage as needed. Emphasis on strong communication, clinical judgment, stress management, initiative, and potential Indigenous language/cultural knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Current related perioperative nursing experience or successful completion of an accredited Operating Room Nursing program
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
- Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or eligibility
- CPR training at the Health Care Provider level
- CNA Perioperative Nursing Certification preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a high-stress setting and maintain patient safety
- Indigenous language competence or knowledge is preferred
