Perioperative Instrument Technician - Full-Time: Evening and Dayshift Position Available

Job Summary
Perioperative Instrument Technician role supporting surgical teams in the operating room. Responsibilities include assembling and handling sterile instrument sets, preparing case carts, assisting OR staff with patient positioning and setup, maintaining sterile technique and safety, managing inventory of instruments and supplies, and coordinating closely with nursing and other hospital personnel to ensure efficient, compliant OR operations. Requires knowledge of aseptic techniques, hospital policies, ability to follow established procedures, and commitment to patient care and confidentiality; prior OR instrument experience preferred. This is a full-time position based at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System Hospital Campus in Pontiac, MI, with duties in the operating room and related support areas.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required
- Experience in operating room instruments or operating room environment preferred
- Able to stand, bend, lift and carry heavy materials up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and universal precautions
