Job Summary
Perioperative care specialist supporting preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing activities to assist the surgical/procedural nursing team. Responsibilities include opening/using sterile supplies, transporting patients, maintaining inventory and supply carts, processing instruments and autoclaves, preparing and labeling sterile packs, documenting vital signs and other patient data, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment in sterile processing and operating room areas. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS/HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. Preferred CNA or MA experience and prior patient care experience. Work is scheduled weekdays with day shift; serves in a direct patient care environment and adheres to departmental policies and procedures. This role supports PPE usage, equipment handling, and coordination with nursing staff to promote patient safety and efficient operating room operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- CNA or MA experience preferred
- Prior patient care experience preferred
- Departmental clinical support or PCS orientation completed successfully
