Job Summary
Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative support to the nursing team caring for surgical/procedural patients under RN supervision, including tasks such as vital signs monitoring, activities of daily living assistance, and point-of-care testing. Perform sterile processing and instrument handling, transport patients and supplies, maintain inventory and cleanliness, and assist with room setup and PPE usage. Role highlights include nonprofessional direct/indirect care within the scope of practice, collaboration with Sterile Processing, and adherence to department policies to support high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of departmental clinical support or PCA orientation
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date
