Job Summary
The Perioperative Attendant at Richmond Community Hospital supports surgical services by setting up and turning over operating room suites, assisting with patient positioning and transfers, performing sterile holds, restocking supplies, and maintaining equipment and POCT quality checks under RN guidance. Responsibilities include transporting patients, obtaining clean inpatient beds, ensuring proper storage of positioning devices, and responding to requests to support the surgical team. Required activities emphasize attention to detail, teamwork, ability to follow instructions, and the need to move with a sense of urgency in a surgical environment. Education requires a high school diploma or equivalent; BLS is preferred prior to direct patient care, and prior perioperative experience is advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
- One-year perioperative experience (preferred)
