Job Summary

Conduct direct and indirect patient care in the perioperative area under the guidance of a registered nurse, including patient positioning, prep, and vital signs collection. Assist with room turnovers, hazardous material disposal, and restocking supplies in pre and post-operative areas. Perform unit secretary duties such as telephone messages and transport patients and equipment while maintaining aseptic technique and infection control. Handle highly-technical equipment like microscopes and lasers, monitor oxygen cylinders, and deliver specimens to labs. Act as a liaison with the Biomedical Department and ensure compliance with National Patient Safety Goals. This entry-level position offers training for advancement to Periop Hospital Tech II.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
