Perfusionist (S)

Prepare for procedures by performing patient assessments and operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during surgeries requiring artificial support or temporary replacement of circulatory or respiratory functions. Monitor patient anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base, and blood-gas status while administering pharmacological agents, anesthetic agents, and blood products as necessary. Set up and initiate intra-aortic balloon pump therapy and autologous blood processing devices, ensuring all perfusion packs, equipment, and supplies are available for scheduled and emergency cases. Perform assembly, maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of equipment while maintaining adequate supplies and providing proper documentation of all assessments, activities, and procedures. Work in a constant state of alertness to manage alarms and machinery malfunctions, maintaining safe manner throughout the shift.
