Job Summary
Perfusionist operates cardiopulmonary bypass circuits and life support equipment to assist cardiac, transplant, and vascular surgeons; monitors oxygenator, gas flow, temperature, pH, and electrolytes; manages heparin during bypass; sets up and operates VADs and ECMO, including HVAD/HMII/HMIII, Impella, and TandemHeart; trains staff, educates colleagues, and participates in the O.R. with on-call rotating coverage; also operates HIPEC system and cell salvage; requires CCP certification and Illinois licensure as a perfusionist with BLS; preferred BS degree.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited perfusion school
- CCP certification
- Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Licensed Perfusionist
- BLS Certification
