Perfusionist for Cardiac Surgery responsible for cardiopulmonary bypass and extracorporeal life support procedures, monitoring blood temperature, flow rate, gases, and anticoagulation; ensures blood salvage techniques and quality control; participates in meetings and policy development; provides education on perfusion topics; collaborates with Chief Perfusionist on department design and performance-improvement initiatives; requires ABCP certification or board eligibility and BLS; shift discussed in interview; call obligations noted.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Perfusion program required
- Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or board eligible with certification received within 18 months of hire
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
