Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and educate regarding ECMO treatment protocols. Communicate with the ECMO physician and healthcare team to interpret, adjust, and complete patient-specific care plans. Requires a Bachelor's degree, designated ECMO training, and relevant licensure (Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, or Perfusionist) along with BLS and ACLS certification. Minimum two years of critical care experience is necessary. This role operates on a 12-hour night shift, three days per week, at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, a Magnet-designated hospital and Level I Trauma Center.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation
- Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing
- RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist License and Current NBRC – National Board of Respiratory Care
- CCP – Certified Perfusion License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
