Perfusion Assistant

Under supervision of a physician or staff perfusionist, independently operate and maintain autologous blood therapy devices and assist with adult cardiopulmonary procedures requiring heart-lung bypass, VAD, and ECMO. Set up, calibrate, and operate electronic monitoring equipment; set up, prime extracorporeal circuits, and transport intra-aortic balloon pump consoles. Maintain quarterly deep cleaning schedules for cardiopulmonary bypass machines, perform weekly cleaning and daily peroxide testing for heater coolers, and restock perfusion supplies to pre-determined par levels. Document all activities in the departmental database and perform related duties as assigned. High school education required; some college in biology highly desirable. One year of related healthcare experience or combination of education and experience preferred.
