Job Summary
Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for a variety of clients and athletic programs. Lead individual and small group training sessions to members of varying fitness levels. Engage in community outreach to promote the Human Performance Lab and program collaboration within the community. Consult with sports medicine staff when working with injured athletes in rehabilitation. Provide Human Performance Lab supervision and basic exercise instruction for members, guests and program participants. Maintain visibility and engagement with members and guests. Screen health history information and coordinate processes for medical clearance as applicable. Schedule and perform fitness assessments, orientations and follow-up appointments, and discuss recommendations related to individual goals. Arrive as first responder to medical emergencies with AED and first aid supplies. Complete incident reports for medical emergencies. Assist in planning and implementing member retention programs. Maintain cleanliness and equipment, inspect for maintenance needs, and remove items from service as required. Ability to lift 45 pounds. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Prior work experience or an internship in the fitness industry
- Personal Training certification required
- CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire
- Proficient computer skills
