Job Summary
Lead strength & conditioning coaching for Academy players, conducting on-field performance sessions focused on speed, agility, and movement skills. Implement training activation protocols and oversee match-related physical loading, including pre-game warm-ups and post-game recovery. Manage data streams from Catapult GPS and Vald Performance Testing Hub to evaluate player performance and workload. Collaborate with medical and performance teams to design individualized activation protocols and monitor periodization. Design weight room testing protocols and maintain accurate records of training loads and recovery metrics. Travel with the team to away games and tournaments to uphold club standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/ University in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
- Certified Strength and Conditioning certification by the NSCA, UKSCA, ASCA or equivalent internationally recognized Strength and Conditioning certification
- CPR certified
- Valid and current U.S. passport
- Ability to obtain or have a valid and current U.S. passport and travel with team as needed
- Flexible work & travel schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the event calendar requires
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to translate data information and communicate effectively and efficiently in English - both verbal and written
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field
- Experience at an elite/professional sports team, or MLS Academy
- Previous experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary sports medicine and sports science department
- Experience in utilizing sports science technologies, such as Catapult GPS, FirstBeat, and Vald Performance
