Job Summary
Perception Engineer - Computer Vision for UAVs: design, implement, and deploy end-to-end computer vision pipelines for real-time onboard UAV processing; configure and calibrate imaging sensors (RGB, thermal, stereo, depth, IR); develop, train, and evaluate deep learning models for detection, tracking, and classification; deploy on edge devices (TensorRT/Jetson a plus); integrate with ROS-based systems and UAV hardware; collaborate with hardware, autonomy, and mission teams for field deployment. Requires degree in Computer Vision, Robotics, ML, EE, or related field with 2+ years experience and strong Python, C++, ROS, OpenCV skills, experience with sensor fusion (e.g., Kalman Filters), and experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow. Willingness to travel for field tests and deployments; English proficiency, German a plus; hybrid work model in Munich/Berlin, Germany.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Vision, Robotics, ML, EE, or related field with 2+ years experience
- Excellent Python, ROS and C++ skills
- Strong experience with sensor fusion (e.g. Kalman Filters)
- Strong experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow or similar deep learning frameworks
- Strong ROS and OpenCV knowledge
- Hands-on experience with model deployment; TensorRT/Jetson is a plus
- Strong grounding in computer vision theory
- GStreamer and camera streaming experience is a plus
- Strong software engineering and Linux knowledge — Git, Docker, CI/CD
- Willingness to travel for field tests and deployments
- Proficiency in English; German knowledge is a plus
