Job Summary
Youth Advocate (Per Diem) provides support and supervision to youths (ages 12-18) in Weymouth-based Teen Group Home. Responsibilities include driving, supervising and ensuring safety, assisting with daily living skills, delivering services per treatment and service plan goals, de-escalation and use of required interventions, implementing the program's behavioral support system, and serving as a positive role model for youth and staff. Per diem coverage may be required, with occasional shifts at four residential programs in Quincy, Weymouth, Hingham, or Plymouth. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED; CPI and CPR/First Aid training available for certification; prior residential or adolescent-youth experience preferred; bilingual abilities desirable.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year experience working with adolescents preferred (not required)
- Residential experience preferred
- Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred
- Able to learn CPI physical interventions, and de-escalation techniques
- Able to learn CPR and first aid
