Job Summary
Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate, and record anatomical, pathological, and functional data. Schedule exams, appointment times, and patient reports via the HIS/RIS system while verifying orders and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Independently implement patient procedures, explain equipment usage, and solve technical problems during examinations. Direct and monitor student clinical training, guiding them through ultrasound protocols and evaluating their progress. Maintain equipment through visual quality control checks and report malfunctions or missing items to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate from an approved ultrasound/vascular technology education program
- Registered or registry eligible to take the Registry exam (ARDMS) within 1 year of hire date
- Five years of ultrasound experience
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Registered as American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS), preferred
- Registered Vascular Technologist, preferred
- Bilingual Spanish, Arabic, or Mandarin, highly preferred
