Job Summary
Prepare equipment, supplies, and medications for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring all rooms are stocked and functional. Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, establish IV access for sedation, and administer medications while monitoring patients for adverse reactions. Collaborate with providers during procedures, assist with specimen collection, and provide verbal handoff reports to recovery staff. Deliver post-procedure monitoring, discharge instructions, and follow-up call confirmations. Maintain patient logs, narcotic inventory, and documentation in Athena and Provation. Assist with room turnover and pathology specimen pickup. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and two years of experience; located at Canal Landing. This role is not benefit eligible.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting required
- Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment, start IVs, administer medications, and perform patient care activities
- Visual acuity required for patient assessment, monitoring equipment, medication preparation, and documentation
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, gloves, gowns, and eye protection
- Ability to maintain concentration and multitask in a fast-paced procedural setting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Endoscopy or procedural nursing experience
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems
