Job Summary
Assist persons with brain injuries in developing treatment plans, implementing rehabilitative and behavioral interventions, and enhancing community integration. Monitor physical and emotional status, ensure site safety, and perform daily living tasks including meal planning, housekeeping, and transportation. Administer medication, document progress, and conduct crisis intervention as needed. Maintain program cleanliness and complete required paperwork and logs. This role requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift 25 pounds, and current First Aid, CPR, and MAP certifications. Compensation is $17.25–$20.75 per hour. Vinfen is a nonprofit providing community-based services to individuals with disabilities across Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Required Qualifications
- One to three months experience in a human services setting
- Experience working with individuals with brain injury preferred
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license
- At least 21 years of age
- Maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months
- Ability to pass a driver's screening background check
- Safe driving record
- Adequate insurance (if using a personal vehicle)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer
- Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways
- Ability to assist clients with tasks of daily living
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives
