Job Summary
Conduct patient history reviews, perform venipuncture, and administer sedation or ultrasound services as needed. Provide unbiased patient education on reproductive health, birth control, and abortion options while documenting care in electronic medical records. Manage inventory of contraceptive supplies, process lab results, and triage patient complaints under direct supervision. Monitor vital signs, assist clinicians with surgical procedures, and refer patients per protocol. Maintain clinic manuals, follow all state laws and HIPAA, and collaborate on cross-training and coverage at assigned health centers.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in state you are applying for the role
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers
- Hepatitis B vaccination records
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccination records or proof of immunization
- Tuberculosis PPD Skin Test that is no older than 12 months
- Work experience as a Registered Nurse (implied by 'Active RN license' and 'scope of RN licensure')
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding mandated reporting, abortion services, healthcare services, and HIPAA
- Ability to administer mild and moderate sedation
- Ability to assist the physician with surgical procedures
- Ability to perform macroscopic exam of tissue post-procedure
- Ability to perform ultrasound medical services
- Ability to supervise and assess patient's post procedure recovery
- Ability to provide telephonic coverage for 24 Hour Emergency Call coverage after 6 months of employment
- Ability to collaborate with and provide coverage as needed at health centers in assigned neighborhoods
- Ability to participate in the onboarding of new employees and supporting the cross-training of established employees
- Ability to follow all state laws regarding mandatory reporting
- Ability to maintain a working knowledge of Planned Parenthood policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate PPNCS protocols, policy and procedures to clinicians and staff
- Ability to assure clinic manuals are up to date
- Ability to provide unbiased education

- Ability to work Monday-Thursday: 9:30-6:00pm, Friday: 9:30-5:00pm
- Ability to work at 91 Viking Drive, Suite 211, Little Canada, MN 55117
- Ability to work hourly/non-exempt
- Ability to accept shift differentials ($1.50/hour weekend, $3.00/hour evening, $4.00/hour float/travel, $2.00/hour Bilingual, $3.00/hour ultrasound)
- Ability to accept schedules created & sent out 6 weeks in
- Ability to accept option of picking up additional shifts, including at other locations other than your 'home'
- Ability to accept contingent background investigation
- Ability to accept comprehensive paid training for all health services positions
- Ability to accept flexibility with hours per week during training
- Ability to accept classroom, mock clinic, and shadowing shifts as part of training
