Job Summary
Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) for Bristol Hospice in Hood River, OR. The role involves performing comprehensive patient and family assessments to determine hospice needs, delivering professional nursing care using the nursing process, developing and revising plans of care with patient/family involvement, documenting pain and symptom management, coordinating with physicians, educating patients and families on self-care, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Requires at least 1 year of acute care experience in an institutional setting, Oregon licensure, and flexibility in hours. Travel throughout the Bristol Hospice Service Area is required. Hospice philosophy and terminally ill patient needs understanding are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least one (1) year of acute care experience in an institutional setting
- One (1) year of experience in home care preferred
- Must have a current licensure in the state
- Must understand the philosophy of hospice concept and understand needs of the terminally ill
- Must be flexible in work hours
- Must demonstrate nursing skills per competency checklist
- Must demonstrate a willingness to maintain comprehensive working knowledge regarding information systems and applicable software programs
- Ability to travel throughout the Bristol Hospice Service Area
