Job Summary
Administer radiation therapy to patients following established standards, practices, and guidelines. Plan, prepare, and deliver prescribed radiation courses by checking prescriptions, diagnosing, and verifying patient identification before treatment. Monitor patients and equipment during sessions, maintain patient markings, and assist the Radiation Oncologist and Physicist in simulation. Collaborate with the supervisor to deliver safe, high-quality, cost-effective care while reinforcing physician advice regarding treatment reactions. Maintain departmental records, update patient charts, schedule appointments, and ensure facilities, equipment, and supplies are clean, orderly, and in good working order. Report hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns immediately to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy
- Must possess a valid Massachusetts license in Radiation Therapy
- Graduate of JRCERT-approved or CAHEA-approved Radiation Therapy Technology Program
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge
- Effective verbal and written communication skill
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team
- BLS required
