Job Summary
Perform Pulmonary Function testing including Lung Volumes, Spirometries, Diffusion Capacity, Methacholine Challenges, and Pulmonary Exercise testing as required. Conduct daily quality assurance on equipment to ensure test validity. Check and validate physician orders, schedule patients, and generate paperwork for report interpretation. Review folders daily for efficient turnaround and coordinate with Pharmacy for optimal Provocholine utilization during Methacholine Challenge testing. Requires Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC certification, and NY State license or technician credential. Hourly rate $39.00 - $45.05.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; RRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapist license
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; CRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician license
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care Certification for Pulmonary Function Technology (CPFT)
- Computer competency, including basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows based pulmonary function software programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Graduate Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organization skills
- Able to perform all aspects of Pulmonary Function Testing
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
