Job Summary
Evaluate physical therapy needs and implement comprehensive, medically prescribed treatment for assigned patients in a supervised rehabilitation program. Conduct initial assessments by reviewing medical charts, clarifying referral orders, and selecting appropriate tools to determine patient status and develop optimal treatment plans. Teach and supervise fieldwork students and other professionals, demonstrating genuine interest in enhancing their knowledge and skills. Implement treatment protocols according to current standards, establish achievable goals with patients and families, and refer to other clinical services as needed. Complete all required documentation for patient care and reimbursement, ensuring thorough clinical records using appropriate medical terminology.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
- New York State Physical Therapy License or temporary permit
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- BLS certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA, or the American Red Cross-ARC) OR CPR/AED certification (issued by the American Heart Association-AHA, or the American Red Cross-ARC)
- Physical Therapist Temporary Permit-NYS
- Physical Therapist License-NYS
- Monday, Friday, Saturday And/Or Sunday As Needed; Varied Schedules
