Job Summary
Provide peer support for guests at Rose House crisis respite using the peer specialist model with trauma-informed techniques. Help guests set goals, connect to mental health services and community resources, and engage in wellness activities. Follow APS training requirements, pursue NY State Peer Specialist Certification, transport guests when needed, and maintain a trauma-informed environment. Must have personal lived experience with trauma, mental health, or substance use history; HS diploma required; willingness to obtain certification; may work holidays; duties include intake support, sharing personal experiences to encourage recovery, and coordinating with the Rose House team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required.
- At least one year in recovery from acute care environment.
- Completion of the Academy of Peer Services Training and the ability to obtain the NY State Peer Specialist Certification or willingness to complete.
