Job Summary
Greet and welcome patients in person, then collect demographic and insurance information while checking them in for appropriate paperwork. Enter data into the electronic medical record, document issues and resolutions, and verify eligibility and benefits for complex billing situations. Explain cost information, collect co-pays or deductibles, and assist patients with financial assistance applications. Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, submit request forms, and provide technical direction for employees working within assigned queues.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work every 3rd Saturday & Sunday
- Ability to work every 3rd Holiday
- Ability to work on a per diem basis within any of the following shifts including weekends/holidays: Day Shift: 8.5-hour shift starting anywhere between 5:30am-10:00am, Evening Shift: 8.5-hour shift starting between 2:30pm, 3:00pm or 7:00pm, Night Shift: 11:00pm - 7:30am
- Ability to work standard daytime hours, Mon-Fri for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
