Job Summary
Greet and welcome patients in person, collecting demographic and insurance information while checking them in and interviewing them to complete appropriate paperwork. Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, resolve claim issues or registration errors, and verify insurance eligibility and benefits for complex billing situations. Obtain cost information, explain financial assistance programs, collect co-pays or deductibles, and refer complex questions as needed. Document all issues and resolutions in the electronic medical record, obtain signatures, and assist patients with request for information forms. Provide customer service for inbound and outbound telephone calls, mentor staff, and perform other duties as assigned. Requires 6+ months of customer service experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to work day and evening hours Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work day & evening hours, Monday - Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule
- Ability to work on a Per Diem basis within 1 st , 2 nd or 3 rd shift, including weekends
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
