Job Summary

Operate Nuclear Medicine equipment including Gamma cameras, Thyroid Uptake probe, dose calibrator, and Geiger counter to produce diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. Prepare and administer radionuclides to patients, maintain proper dose logs, and dispose of radioactive waste while ensuring radiation safety and infection control compliance. Perform calibrations, quality control procedures, and produce accurate floods on cameras, reporting any abnormal calibrations. Enter exam codes into the Radiology Information System and assist in facility maintenance. Instruct and supervise Nuclear Medicine students in clinical practice and image evaluation.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma; approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • Associate's Degree Nuclear Medicine Technology program or a related health field
  • Nuclear Medicine permit issued by NYS Department of Health
  • New York State license in Nuclear Medicine
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Strong communication (both written and oral)
  • Problem solving
  • Customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Thorough knowledge of Nuclear Medicine equipment
  • Radiologic Tech - Temp Permit
  • Radiologic Tech Lic - NYS
  • Nuclear Med Tech Cert (NMTCB)
  • Am Registry Of Radiologic Tech
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

  • 1 - 2 years Nuclear Technologist experience
