Job Summary
Per Diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides autonomous and collaborative neonatal care at Elmhurst Hospital's Level IIe Special Care Nursery, including delivery room resuscitation and newborn management in L&D, newborn nursery, and NICU. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, performing procedures such as PPV, intubation, central lines, and chest tubes, participating in quality improvement and policy development, and supporting clinical research. The role requires working under physician supervision and collaborating with the neonatology team to deliver high-quality care for term and late preterm infants, with hours flexible to cover 24/7 staffing.
Required Qualifications
- APRN licensure in the State of IL
- Federal DEA license and Illinois Controlled Substance License
- Completion of accredited pediatric residency or Master's level program in specialty area
- BLS for Healthcare Providers and NRP certifications required
- American Board of Pediatrics eligible, NCC certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
- Certificate from neonatal PA fellowship
- 5+ years of IP Newborn (preferred) or Pediatric, Immediate Care or Pediatric ED experience highly preferred
