Job Summary
Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work with a neonatologist and independently to deliver care to newborns in L&D, newborn nursery, and NICU, including delivery room resuscitation and management of common newborn diagnoses; perform/assist with procedures (PPV, intubation, central lines, chest tubes); maintain accurate medical records; contribute to policy development, QI monitoring, and staff clinical skill support; opportunity to participate in clinical research within a Level IIe NICU setting at Elmhurst Hospital (Chicago metro area); requires IL APRN licensure, BLS, NRP, and eligible for ABP/NCC neonatal certification; 5+ years of IP newborn or pediatric experience preferred; per diem role with flexible hours in a 24/7 staffed unit.
Required Qualifications
- APRN licensure in IL
- Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
- Master's level program in specialty area
- BLS for Healthcare Provider and NRP certifications
- ABP Neonatal certification eligibility or NCC certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
- Certificate of completion from neonatal PA fellowship
- 5+ years IP Newborn or Pediatric, Immediate Care or Pediatric ED experience preferred
