Job Summary
Conduct patient history reviews, document in electronic medical records, and monitor vital signs during reproductive health clinic visits. Perform routine laboratory tests including venipuncture, administer mild sedation, and assist clinicians with surgical procedures and post-procedure tissue exams. Provide unbiased patient education on contraception, abortion options, and FDA-approved birth control methods while managing inventory and contraceptive supplies. Screen patients, triage complaints, and refer per protocol under immediate supervision of the Health Center Manager. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding mandated reporting and HIPAA.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma program, or Associate degree in Medical Assisting, or current EMT/Paramedic licensure, or 6+ months experience as a Health Center Associate II at PPNCS
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Active LPN License in Minnesota
- Hepatitis B vaccination records and titers
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccination records or proof of immunization
- Chicken Pox vaccination records or proof of immunization
- Tetanus shot documentation
- Tuberculosis PPD Skin Test that is no older than 12 months
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers
