Job Summary
The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician provides services related to the safe administration of medical treatment as prescribed by the physician, including documenting responses to treatment and notifying parties of clinical changes. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of psychiatric nursing experience, proper licensure in California, and a valid CPR certification. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring client conditions, participating in treatment planning, and maintaining accurate records.
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience in psychiatric nursing in a skilled nursing facility or acute hospital
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program
- Current license by the State of California
- Valid CPR Certificate
- Clearance from the Department of Justice
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of psychiatric illness
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications
- Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the delivery of mental health services in California
