Job Summary
Supplemental Emergency General Surgery Hospitalist to join the EGS Program at Sutter Amador Hospital. Provides both acute surgical interventions and essential outpatient procedural support within a community-hospitalist model, ensuring surgical continuity when core team is at capacity. Requires board status in General Surgery (ABMS or AOBS), unrestricted CA medical license and DEA, and 2+ years of rural experience. Proficient with laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repairs, and basic therapeutic endoscopy. Located in Ione, CA, serving northern California communities with a focus on work-life balance and local lifestyle.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACGME or AOA accredited General Surgery Residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery by ABS or AOBS
- Unrestricted California Medical License (MD or DO) and valid DEA
- 2+ years of experience in a rural program
- Proficiency with laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia; basic therapeutic endoscopy
