Job Summary
Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship while implementing individual treatment and positive support plans. Provide guidance during skills-building activities, assist with daily living tasks like meal preparation and hygiene, and transport members to approved vehicles for appointments. Exercise sound judgment to ensure member safety, manage funds by recording expenditures, and collect accurate data on progress notes and treatment plans daily. Maintain a clean, orderly residence, adhere to all safety and licensing standards, and promptly notify the House Manager of any operational or welfare concerns. Work within a team to promote self-determination and respectful interaction for individuals with intellectual disabilities, adhering to MaineCare and Person-Centered Planning requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license from state of residence and clean driving record
- Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English
- Information technology skills to enter time & attendance, documentation of service, manage & complete trainings, communicate with supervisor and co-workers
Desired Qualifications
- Position experience not required but must have the desire to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities, including a willingness to learn and support individuals living with complex disabilities
- A willingness to implement positive behavior support, implementing structured activities, collecting accurate treatment date and behavior date, and demonstrating effective communication with members, families, coworkers and other professionals
