Job Summary

Perform medically prescribed radiographic and computed tomography (CT) procedures using CT scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues. Accurately interpret physician orders, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate CT equipment, and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Assess patient history and condition to determine appropriate exams, verify correct patient identification, and clearly explain procedures to ensure cooperation. Follow accepted radiologic practices, consult policy manuals, and modify examinations as needed to optimize diagnostic quality based on patient condition. Demonstrate proficiency with hospital and radiology information systems to schedule exams, verify orders, and document details in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment, identify malfunctions, and report issues to appropriate personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or completion of an accredited Technical Program
  • Radiologic Technologist (Temporary) Permit required at time of hire
  • NYS Radiologic Technologist IV License required within 180 days of permit issuance
  • ARRT Certification in Radiography (X-Ray) required within 180 days of hire
  • ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required within 1 year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Computed Tomgrphy-RT(CT)(ARRT)
  • Radiologic TechLic IV-Cert-NYS
  • Radiologic Tech Lic - NYS
  • Am Registry Of Radiologic Tech
  • ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
