Job Summary
Deliver exceptional nursing care for emergency and hospitalized canine and feline patients, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and medication administration. Execute, monitor, and recover anesthesia and sedation events while triaging emergency patients and recognizing changes in their condition. Assist veterinarians during minor surgical procedures, prioritize treatments, and educate clients regarding discharge instructions. Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to ensure outstanding patient outcomes within a team-focused hospital culture. This per diem opportunity offers flexible scheduling across day, swing, overnight, and weekend shifts for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant.
Required Qualifications
- California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP)
- Minimum three years of experience in progressive general practice or two years in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital
- Strong skills in emergency nursing, anesthesia, pharmacology, and patient care
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
