Job Summary
Provide personal care and support to hospice patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in Murray, UT. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility and transfers, monitoring vital signs when ordered, applying basic therapeutic interventions, maintaining a clean and orderly patient environment, assisting with medications as allowed by state regulations, documenting care per plan of care, communicating with patients and families with empathy, and participating in interdisciplinary care to promote comfort and dignity.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Utah
- Current CPR certification
- Willingness to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter
- Minimum 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training
- Licensed driver with automobile insured as required
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
- Ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision
- Flexible in work hours to ensure patient care as per plan of care
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill
- Effective communication and strong organizational skills
- Experience in hospice/community health or medical/surgical environments (preferred)
