Job Summary
Ensure excellent customer service when assisting patients, providers, and departments over the phone or in person. Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, updating records to ensure accuracy before the date of service. Engage other departments to address patient questions, facilitate benefit conversations, and collect copays or liabilities. Remain aware of department service levels and measurable data while meeting productivity and audit goals. Escalate outstanding needs to leadership to expedite pre-registration and financial clearance functions prior to service.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6+ months of experience in an office setting, customer service setting (over the phone or face to face), phone support role, or call center environment
- Beginner level of proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability to work on a per diem basis between the hours of 7:00am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday
- Influenza vaccination for the current flu season (typically August-May) or commitment to receive the influenza vaccination when available for the upcoming flu season
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- Previously worked for Northern Light Health
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of registration experience in a hospital or medical setting
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient care settings
