Job Summary
Provide daily injury prevention, on-site evaluation and treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer and Team Physician(s); collaborate with Team Physician(s) for guidance on treatment; determine ability to practice/compete in consultation with Team Physician(s); report status of injured student-athletes to coaching staff; maintain and organize daily medical records and the ATR file system in compliance with NCAA and Empire 8 rules; travel with athletic teams as necessary; supervise athletic training students; participate in prevention, nutrition, and safety discussions with coaching staff; maintain BOC certification and NY licensure; ensure OSHA compliance and exposure control, including annual training; perform additional duties and participate in professional development; evenings and weekends work required; 20 hours/week at $35/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Formal Education: a bachelor's degree in athletic training is required; a master's degree in athletic training or a related field is preferred
- Board of Certification (BOC) certification
- State of New York licensure on first elate of employment
- Licensed by the State of New York
- Minimum of two years of collegiate athletic training experience
- CPR and AED certified; first aid/CPR instructor level desired
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Evenings and weekends availability
- Injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation responsibilities
