Job Summary
Part-Time Technical Director with CNBC broadcast production responsibilities: manage show switching and transitions, prepare and route video/audio paths, build and execute switcher effects, support studio/control room operations, serve as Crew Chief as assigned, and test/troubleshoot broadcast systems prior to air. Requires hands-on experience with Sony MVS and Ross Video switchers, Chyron ISQ, and a proven ability to perform in a fast-paced live environment; flexible scheduling including weekends/holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating production switchers, including Sony MVS switcher series
- Experience with Ross Video switchers and automation systems (e.g., OverDrive)
- Familiarity with Chyron ISQ systems and other switcher-related peripherals
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a live news and/or sports production control room environment
- Ability to think quickly, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a live production environment
- Strong interpersonal and client service skills with the ability to remain composed under pressure
- Comprehensive knowledge of live news television production workflows
- Experience with iNews newsroom systems preferred
- Advanced PC and technical troubleshooting skills
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
