People Systems Lead (Workday)

Job Summary
Lead as the functional/technical expert for Workday Core Compensation and Advanced Compensation and serve as the overall functional lead across Workday modules (including Core HCM). Design, configure, and optimize Workday solutions across compensation and broader People processes; partner with People, Rewards, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable system solutions. Drive end-to-end functional design decisions, ensure Workday capabilities are delivered consistently across modules, and provide delivery leadership across complex People Systems initiatives. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, gap analysis, solution recommendations, configuration, testing/UAT, deployment, issue resolution, user documentation, and training; mentor junior team members and uphold governance and compliance practices. Required hands-on Workday experience, strong stakeholder management, and a track record of leading compensation cycles and cross-module Workday initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of HRIS platform experience
- 5+ years of Workday experience with Core Compensation, Advanced Compensation, and Reporting
- Proven experience as a functional lead across multiple Workday modules including Core HCM
- Experience leading at least 3 Advanced Compensation cycles or launches end to end
- Strong knowledge of Workday HCM: configuration, business processes, testing, and UAT
- Hands-on experience with Workday reporting, analytics, EIB, and security
- Ability to configure, test, and deploy Workday enhancements across Compensation, Core HCM, and related modules
- Experience partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify gaps, and translate into scalable solutions
- Coaching and mentoring junior team members; delivering training and documentation
- Exposure to governance, audit, or compliance in enterprise People Systems
