Job Summary
As part of the Toronto Shelter & Support Services People Services team, provide HR best-practice support and strategic advice across recruitment, return-to-work/workplace accommodation, complement management, employee and labour relations, organizational development/change, employee engagement, and attendance management. Lead and coordinate divisional HR projects, advise on policies and regulatory requirements, ensure timely implementation, oversee transfers/leave checks, support recruitment/promotions, manage divisional HR data using SuccessFactors/SAP, guide return-to-work initiatives, collaborate with Corporate Employee and Labour Relations, lead workplace investigations, design and implement policies and programs to improve service quality, ensure effective SuccessFactors submissions, coordinate contingency planning, deliver training, and develop consultative processes and tools to align HR initiatives with equity, inclusion, and staff wellness.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the position, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation would be considered an asset
- Considerable experience developing and delivering HR strategies and services in a large organization
- Experience leading and implementing significant initiatives and projects in organizational change
- Experience preparing comprehensive reports and management materials using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience utilizing HR/Payroll applications (e.g., SuccessFactors, SAP)
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment standards legislation, Human Rights Code, OHSA, applicable collective agreements, and HR policies
- Strong communication, advisory, and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to lead work groups and deliver high levels of client service
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness, equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and change management
