Job Summary
We are seeking a People Operations professional to enhance and scale systems, programs, and processes supporting the employee lifecycle at Tandem. This role involves optimizing onboarding, offboarding, benefits, compensation, and compliance while ensuring data integrity across HR systems. Responsibilities include partnering with Finance, maintaining compliance, building frameworks for development, managing key metrics, and leading engagement initiatives. Ideal candidates should have 2–7 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, HRIS management experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Required Qualifications
- Operational expertise in people processes: onboarding, offboarding, benefits, compensation, performance, compliance, and engagement
- Experience maintaining data integrity across HR systems (HRIS, payroll, ATS)
- Ability to partner with Finance on payroll, headcount planning, and compensation cycles
- Knowledge of employment regulations and internal policy standards
- Ability to build scalable frameworks and SOPs for hiring, feedback, and employee development
- Experience in managing and tracking key people metrics and reporting to enable better decision-making
- Capability to lead company-wide programs (e.g., engagement surveys, performance reviews, recognition programs)
- Empathy and clarity as a trusted point of contact for employees
Desired Qualifications
- 2–7 years of experience in people operations, HR, or business operations in a fast-paced environment (startups, consulting, or scaling tech companies preferred)
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills; comfortable with data, spreadsheets, and workflows
- Experience managing HRIS and related tools (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, Justworks, Workday, etc.)
- Excellent judgment and confidentiality — handling sensitive information with care
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; bringing clarity and calm to complexity
- A builder’s mindset — enjoying designing from zero and scaling what works
- Curiosity and intellectual horsepower; learning fast and staying rigorous
- A sense of ownership — identifying and fixing problems
- Comfort with ambiguity, change, and moving at high velocity
